Does the economic climate fill you with fear over how far your retirement income will stretch? Are you frustrated at the performance of the pension plan you filtered your hard-earned pay into for so many years?

So many people nowadays are concerned about how they will afford the things they looked forward to once their working years were over, and for some the reality is they may even struggle to meet everyday living expenses.

At Bower Retirement Services we are often approached by people looking for ways to fund their retirement or finance things like home improvements, a new car or a holiday.

Many have seen adverts about unlocking tax-free cash from their homes – Equity Release – and nowadays, providing a Safe Home Incomes Plans (SHIP) product is used and professional independent financial advice is taken, Equity Release is completely safe and quite often the best option.

However, there are other options which we thoroughly investigate first, and often we will suggest things like claiming entitlement to means tested benefits, a Local Authority home improvement grant or unlocking investments as viable alternatives.

Are you considering your financial options for retirement? Don’t rush into anything!Take some time to consider the alternatives and most importantly, always take independent financial advice from an FSA regulated independent financial adviser.

If you are thinking about releasing tax free cash from your home via an Equity Release plan, make sure you consult an FSA regulated specialist equity release adviser who only recommends SHIP products; that way you can rest assured equity release will be safe.
